ALDO GROUP DEBUTS NEW COLLABORATION PROGRAM WITH WARM – NYC’s FAVORITE NEW STORE

Winnie Beattie and Rob Magnotta of Manhattan’s ultra-chic shop WARM partner with ALDO BOUTIQUE, the new collaboration program by ALDO to design a suede bootie for all seasons.

Montreal, September 26, 2012 – Autumn might be just around the corner, but things are heating up now that ALDO has introduced ALDO Boutique, a new collaboration program, unveiling its first product offering: a cozy plush bootie designed in collaboration with Winnie Beattie and Rob Magnotta, owners of WARM Boutique in NYC.

ALDO Boutique is a new collaboration program that seeks to discover awesome partnerships amongst ALDO’s global network of talented taste makers, be they designers, architects, artists or musicians. Together with ALDO’s in-house designers they bring these collaborative ideas to fruition and create indispensable, of-the moment footwear. Says Douglas Bensadoun, Creative Director & VP Marketing of the endeavor: “Hooking up with Winnie and Rob at WARM on this awesome little bootie is the best way to kick-off ALDO Boutique – it’s about people of common interests coming together to create something beautiful and precious.”

If WARM, the name of Manhattan’s cool Downtown shop, conjures images of sun-kissed shoulders and laidback bohemian glam, that’s because owner Winnie Beattie is the product of a childhood spent surfing in Hawaii. Beattie and Magnotta’s Nolita boutique provides New Yorkers with chic, hot-climate essentials year-round. Their edit includes a mix of ready-to-wear Parisienne labels and beach essentials-Paris meets Southern California.

That same laid-back vibe is inherent in the shoe that Winnie, Rob and ALDO Boutique designed together. Featuring a silky calf-suede upper, the plush inners are meant to feel just as cozy on the inside as they look on the outside. The bootie is a must-have for creating a perfectly chill but chic aesthetic – the kind that comes so naturally to the crowd in search of the endless holiday.

The booties are offered in three key neutrals – taupe, camel and black — the better to pair with your surfboard. “I love this style because it can be worn with a runway dress as much as it can be thrown on after a surf on a cool day at the beach. It is cool, casual, and reminds me of something a girl from the Marais would wear if she was on her way to Biarritz for the weekend,” said Winnie Beattie. ALDO Boutique + WARM booties retail for $129 and are available select at ALDO and Little Burgundy stores worldwide, WARM Boutique in New York, and online at aldoshoes.com and warmny.com.
