The CFDA Incubator Group for 2014

CFDA Incubators program group 2014Council of Fashion Designers of America-CFDA- has finally picked up a group of ten promising fashion designers who will have the privilege of working under the CFDA’s Fashion Incubator program. Fashion Incubator offers a creative professional environment in which these designers shall have  low-cost design studio space, business mentoring, educational seminars, and networking opportunities so that the participants explore their full potential and emerge as an integral part of the New York Fashion Industry. Incubator group for 2014 is consisted of ten selected fashion designers who are supposed to work together under one roof.

Designerz Central unveils the fresh pick ups of CFDA, Fashion Incubator. Amongst the lucky Incubator group for 2014 are  Antonio Azzuolo, Arielle Shapiro of Ari Dein, Benjamin and Doug Burkman of Burkman Brothers, Christian Cota, Emanuela Duca, Ricky Hendry and Marc Daniels of Isaora, Luis M. Fernandez of Number:Lab, Reece Solomon of Reece Hudson, Maayan Zilberman and Nikki Dekker of The Lake & Stars, and Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstein of Timo Weiland. These designers were chosen by members of CFDA’s Selection Committee and an Advisory Board, comprised of fashion industry experts, including retailers, editors, and business leaders.

Incubator group for 2014 shall move to the CFDA‘s garment district Fashion Incubator studios next May for the course of next two years. Chosen designers will be provided  several hundred square foot studios priced below market value ($1,500-$2,000). It’s a great help offered by CFDA for the designers just starting out their career, allowing them to consume the big amount of money they may have been spending on rent and put it into their business. Fashion Incubator will do more than just giving these designers a place to work in the shape of the program’s first members, including Prabal Gurung, Sophie Theallet, Waris Ahluwalia and others who will provide business mentoring to The lucky Incubator group 2014. They’ll help the designers develop “full financial statements, cash flow projections and investor-ready business plans.”

The Fashion Incubator by CFDA is a program under which the new talents will have to work together, live together and will have to cater the differences amongst them peacefully. Exploring the real side of different personalities and co existing by accommodating each other is really professional indeed. As the real life business career is a platform where everyone has to be very very patient and accommodating.CFDA, as a mission, always creates a promising and professional environment for the selected ones. Moreover, The Incubator group for 2014 by working together will generate an art oriented environment where creativity will grow and reach its peak. Not only this, rather new trends are expected to sprout when different styles and artistic visions infuse to give way to the new Fashions.

CFDA launched Fashion Incubator program initially in 2010  with a $200,000 grant from the New York City Economic Development Corporation. A dozen designers successfully made their mark under this program and are now seen helping their follower Incubator group for 2014.
