She may have been a tomboy growing up in Kentucky, but Jennifer Lawrence has since transformed into the style icon. The 24-year-old actress turned heads once again as she continued promoting her latest film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 with a visit to The Colbert Report in New York City on Thursday.

Jennifer was wearing a clingy cobalt-blue dress with deeply cut neckline and thigh-trailing hem, allowing more than just glimpses of her slender, toned legs. Her frock was further complimented by a matching blazer, waist-cinching black belt and studded dark heels.
Dark, bluish-black nail polish and rosy lipstick were interesting diversions, while Jennifer’s short blonde hair was styled back from her face with a nice bouffant lift. Jennifer – who was crowded by autograph-seeking fans and security when a barricade collapsed in front of The Late Show With David Letterman on Wednesday – was ushered inside the studio fast this time by her associates. The actress took it all in stride though, and could hardly stifle a giggle at all the attention she got.
As stunning as she looked on this day and the many other occasions preceding it, Jennifer confessed that she found fame and fashion-heavy events awkward in the beginning. ‘I hated dressing up for my first red carpets, because I never felt comfortable in these glamorous dresses,’ Jennifer told French magazine Madame Figaro.
Growing up in Kentucky, Jennifer spent her time riding horses, not fawning over fashion magazines. ‘In Louisville, when I was a child, I inherited clothes from my two older brothers [Ben and Blaine] that I put together with things that my mother dug out of yard sales,’ the star confessed, adding: ‘I was a true tomboy.’
When she was approached to be the face of Dior – talks began in 2012 – Jennifer hesitated at first. ‘At the beginning I told everyone, “I’m an actress. I’m not a model. I don’t want to do it,”‘ Jennifer said. ‘It is only recently that I discovered the beauty of haute couture. The first Dior collection I attended by Raf Simons blew me away.’

While her fashion choices continue to generate interest, so is her blossoming romance with Coldplay singer Chris Martin, 37. Gwyneth Paltrow’s ex was spotted catching a plane for London on Tuesday, presumably to hook up with Jennifer who was in the UK for the premiere of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.
