They’ve been pictured frolicking in their bikinis on a yacht the past few days in St. Tropez. But Selena Gomez and new pal Cara Delevingne cleaned up nicely for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation Gala on Wednesday.
Selena, who turned 22 on Tuesday, dazzled in an olive-green and gold gown, while 21-year-old Cara was edgier in white shorts and a fur jacket as they arrived at the swanky event. Selena looked a far cry from her child star days in the frock, which featured long draping on one side over glittering gold fabric.
The dress sported a high slit, and Selena added matching gold heels to complete the look. She wore her dark hair in a sleek low bun and highlighted her brown eyes with dark shadow. Cara, meanwhile, showed off her slender legs in the skimpy embroidered shorts, and added an unusual touch with a cropped fur jacket.
The Victoria’s Secret model wore peep-toe black botties, adding a boost of height to her already tall 5ft 10in frame. She styled her highlighted blonde hair in a braid and wore heavy makeup, sporting smokey eyes and purple/red lips. The friends were seen browsing the shops in St. Tropez earlier in the day, allegedly stopping by Dior and boutique Doux.
Selena looked chic in a short black lace dress paired with pointy black heels. Cara, meanwhile, stayed true to her tomboy style in a blue animal print jumpsuit paired with blue high-top sneakers. The girls have been seen soaking up the sun on a luxury yacht this past week to see in Selena’s birthday.
Hunky Italian businessman Tommy Chiabra, who is rumoured to be romancing Cara, joined the girls for part of their vacation. It’s believed Tommy is the founder and chairman of luxury yacht company Royal Yacht and was most recently linked to actress Jessica Szohr.
Meanwhile an overwhelmed Selena took to Twitter to thank everyone for all the birthday love. ‘Thank you SO much for my birthday wishes -this has been the BEST birthday yet! THANK YOU!!!!,’ she wrote.
