How Did Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Show Support To Veterans On Martin Luther King Jr. Day?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue their support to the veterans even after their royal exit.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex did their part to “empower veterans” on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Prince Harry and Markle sent a personal letter and donated meal boxes to the veterans who volunteered for The Mission Continues, an organization dedicated to empowering veterans who are “adjusting to life at home to find purpose through community impact,” Harper’s Bazaar reported.

The Sussexes supported the volunteers by providing food. They wished to volunteer in-person and hope that it will happen in the coming months.

“In honor of this day of service, and in recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and all that he stood for, we want to send our thanks and gratitude to the team at The Mission Continues,” the Sussexes wrote.

“We’re so proud of all the work you’re doing to support your community and hope you enjoy this small token of our appreciation. Thank you for your service—today and every day. We look forward to joining you soon! … Stay safe, and keep up the great work.”

The organization shared a copy of the Sussexes’ letter on its official Instagram account. The Mission Continues thanked the royal couple for their support to the volunteers.

“We’d like to send a huge thank you to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with Archewell Foundation, for fueling the volunteers of our LA Service Platoon with lunch yesterday, so they can continue their hard work at the Compton VFW and help those living in the Compton community! We’re truly honored to have their support!” the caption of the Instagram post read.

Prince Harry and Markle had a painful journey one year after their exit from the royal family. The Duke of Sussex was particularly sad about being stripped of his military honors and his role as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador.

Despite the difficulties, they have no regrets about their decision. Prince Harry and Markle are happy and contented. They also felt rewarded after closing a multi-million production deal with Netflix.
