Grunge with a sporadic injection of colour was the general mode for music revellers at this weekend's Open'er Festival in Poland.

With an epic 2013 lineup boasting the likes of Kings of Leon, Blur, The xx, Queens of the Stone Age, Rihanna and Arctic Monkeys, Open’er Festival instantly shot to the top of our list of must-see European festivals this year and cemented a firm place in our festival-loving hearts.

Set in the idyllic Polish coastal town of Gdynia and housed on an old military airport, Open’er is 6 days of camping and 4 pumping days of some of the best live acts from all over the world in the warm Polish sunshine.

Named Europe’s Best Major Festival two years running in 2009 and 2010, Open’er Festival has made a name for itself for its impeccable organisation, incredible atmosphere, and lineups that make your jaw drop in awe.

How they manage to keep ticket prices at their insanely cheap levels is beyond us, but we’re guessing the backing of Heineken International has something to do with it.
