Alexander Wang is a Chinese American fashion designer born in 1984. He moved to New York in 2002 at the age of 18 to study the Parsons The New School for Design and worked as internee with Marc Jacobs, Derek Lam, and Vogue. He joined summer design programs at OTIS and lived in San Francisco during late teen age. After dropping his naive year and gaining experience in haute couture he launched his zippy women’s ready to wear collection in 2007. He was then nominated for a 2008 Council of Fashion Designers of America in Women's Wear and won a USD$200,000 prize as the CDFA Fashion Fund Award winner which was a huge amount for a young fashion designer stepping into fashion industry.

Alexander Wang launched a diffusion line of pre-weathered cotton tees, tanks, and T-shirt dresses in spring 2009, T by Alexander Wang, as well as a footwear collection of towering platform sandals. He is well known for his classy masculine womenswear patterns. His label incorporates casual attires drawing theme of nineteens, French chic, and rock grunge with finishing them skilfuly always.

His clean lucid cloth line also incorporates street fashion and high sophistication when presented on ramp. He showcased Alexander Wang Fall 2008 Collection using black dominantly and then blended bright prismatic colors of orange, dusty purple, aqua and hot pink in Alexander Wang Spring 2009 Collection claiming, "They wanted color, they got color!"

Alexander Wang concentrated on a combination of eighties hip-hop and seventies Parisian chic, channeling Run-D.M.C. and YSL simultaneously.
