Azzaro

Famous for his Azzaro perfumes and colognes, French fashion designer Loris Azzaro was born in Tunisia on 9 February 1933. To set his own prêt line and perfume brands, he came to Paris in 1962 and by 1968 got a big success.

Fashion designer Azzaro was known for his inspirational party dresses that he used to design for elite class of French society that sometimes included ornamented beads and swanky cuts but the proficiency of Azzaro had always been his weaving of colored chain patterns on shirts to create delicate chainmail attires. By the seasons, he used to showcase his collection, are always named alphabetically as of season one collection starting with A, the next one with B and so on.

Including men’s and women’s wear, Azzaro produced successful range of his fragrances. He invented first fragrance for women, ‘couture’ in 1975 that became his signature perfume. With the time being, fashion designer Azzaro earned fame for his perfumes more than his attires. But in case of designing outfits he had always drawn inspiration from his native land Tunisia and says, "I let myself get carried by the atmosphere of the country of my childhood with its spiced odors, its colors, its flowers and its perfumes. It is the country where I really become myself, the country where my preferred color is everywhere, azure of the sea and the sky.”

Loris Azzaro  has credit of designing dresses for some famous celebrities including Raquel Welch, Claudia Cardinale, Kate Winslet , Dalida, Claudia Cardinale, Nicole Kidman, Marisa Berenson, and Isabelle Adjani. But the designer passed away at the of 70 in Paris, France then the other French designer Vanessa Seward took over Azzaro’s label as head designer and continued it by producing vintage clothes. Fashion house of Azzaro has only one location across the world and that is on Newbury Street in Boston.
