Tyra Banks has one of the famous stories. Her story is defiantly a success story. She persistently carried on with her ambitions, which began on December 4th, 1973.
She signed with Elite Model Management and started her work from catalogs and then went to Paris Fashion Week. The designers at the fashion week were highly impressed by her passion and there she was booked for an exceptional 25 shows which is definitely a record for a newcomer. She graced the runway with her presence.

After this success she managed to get a number of campaigns and covers. In February 1997 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition and GQ's January 2000 issue, she was the first solo black woman to appear on the cover of these two popular magazines. This was a huge success for Tyra Banks because despite being a black woman she managed to reach the heights of success. She created her good reputation with hard work and her determination. She managed to make her self prominent among her fans through her long-term contract with Cover Girl and five years with Victoria’s Secret. She was awarded with the prestigious Michael Award for Supermodel of the year including the two Teen Choice Awards for Favorite Supermodel.
Tyra has definitely made herself stand in the spot lights and she deserves appreciation for her hard work. Tyra’s book ,”Tyra’s Beauty Insdie & Out”, she established a scholarship program, the Tyra Banks Scholarship which was granted African-American girls an opportunity to attend the same all-girl school she went to. She worked for the independence and enhancement of teen age girl’s self-esteem, for this matter she began TZONE, an annual summer camp in July of 2000.
Success was more like a habit for her. She kept experiencing the taste of hard work and then the fun of being rewarded for it. In 2003, she took a step ahead when she started her show America’s Next Top Model. After reaching the heights of success and stardom in the modeling world she decided to leave modeling altogether and focused on television ventures. She then launched her daily talk show, The Tyra Banks Show, in 2005. Hosting this show for three years made her prominent. She won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show.
Her biggest and most significant achievement was to be declared the Most Influential People in the world in 2007 for a second consecutive year. It is important to mention that she is only one of the four African-Americans and seven women who have been ranked among the world’s most influential people. On top of this list of successes she was also names one of Glamour’s Women of the Year in 2008.
