Pre-Fall Collection 2015 by Fashion label Mulberry

Mulberry’s design team — newly named creative director Johnny Coca doesn’t join the label until July — delved into its British roots for pre-fall. Inspired by Georgian country houses and the Arts and Crafts movement, they showed ornate prints in quintessentially English shades, such as red brick and milky beige, dubbed Earl Gray.

A hand-carved black-oak-leaf print wound its way through the collection, appearing as a graphic pattern on a baby-pink tea dress and as a stripe woven into silky gray Merino sweaters. The Georgian house turned up as a lace appliqué on a duchesse satin top and skirt.

More youthful silhouettes offered a modern counterpoint: There were pleated, wide-leg cropped pants and three-quarter-length beige jackets with a black shearling lining. New handbags in the lineup included the Darby, a boxy leather satchel, and the Jamie, a bucket bag inspired by Mulberry’s 1970s designs.
