We’re willing to bet at least a couple of these are heading to Hollywood right now. The pinnacle of red carpet season — the Academy Awards — is almost upon us. On Sunday, Feb. 22 (yes, that’s smack in the middle of Fashion Month), the world will be watching as Hollywood’s elite gather for the film industry’s most prestigious ceremony. While the primary reason for the occasion is, of course, to celebrate the year’s outstanding achievements in cinema, that fact is often overshadowed by the fashion — which is pretty spectacular on its own.
With so many stylish nominees in the running this year, including Felicity Jones, Rosamund Pike, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone and Keira Knightley, we have very high expectations for the level of taste on the red carpet. Considering that the couture shows just wrapped up in Paris, these A-list ladies also have an entirely new stock of gowns to choose from — that is, if their stylists can confirm them before someone else gets to them first. After browsing the just-released collections, we chose 12 gowns that are so stunning we’d be surprised if they weren’t already being packed up and shipped to Hollywood for fittings.
