Prince Charles questioned skin color of Meghan Markle’s unborn baby, book claims

Prince Charles allegedly questioned the color of Meghan Markle’s unborn baby, according to a new book.

Prince Charles raised concern over Archie’s complexion, according to Chris Andersen’s book Brothers And Wives: Inside The Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan. In the tome, the Prince of Wales reportedly initiated a conversation concerning his unborn grandson’s skin color.

Andersen is releasing a new book Tuesday. In his publication, he cited a “well-placed source” claiming that the Prince of Wales initiated a conversation with his wife about Archie’s skin tone.

“I wonder what the children will look like?” the heir apparent allegedly asked Camilla on Nov. 27, 2017, Daily Beast reported.

The Duchess didn’t expect the question. “Well, absolutely gorgeous, I’m certain,” she responded.

Prince Charles allegedly didn’t stop and asked the duchess about her opinion of the unborn baby’s complexion. The conversation happened on the same day the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their engagement.

The author did not indicate if Prince Charles was the royal Prince Harry and Markle were referring to in their interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year. He also pointed out that the Prince of Wales only asked out of curiosity. However, the scheming courtiers gave it a racist spin. So, the remarks turned into a “toxic” story by the time they reached Prince Harry and Markle.

The book also claimed that Prince Charles told Prince Harry he was “overly sensitive about the matter.” Prince William was also not sympathetic. The Duke of Cambridge allegedly said the skin tome comment made by their dad was “tactless.” However, it’s not a sign of racism within the family.

Prince Charles denied the claim in the book. “This is fiction and not worth further comment,” his spokesperson said.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a number of revelations during their tell-all with Oprah Winfrey. One of the things that shocked many was when Markle said a member of the firm raised concern over her unborn child’s complexion.

The duchess said the story was relayed to her by her husband, Prince Harry.  The Duke of Sussex corroborated his wife’s story. But the pair declined to name the royal with the duchess saying, it “would be very damaging to them.”

However, both hinted that the royal who raised concern over Archie’s skin color was neither Prince Philip nor Queen Elizabeth II.

The Sussex statement sparked racist allegations against the royal family. Prince William quickly denied the claims. “We are very much not a racist family,” he said.
