Chris Daughtry’s Stepdaughter’s Cause of Death Revealed Following Autopsy

The cause of death of Chris Daughtry’s 25-year-old stepdaughter, Hannah Price, has been determined following an autopsy report.

TMZ reports that Daughtry’s daughter died from suicide by hanging. According to the autopsy report from the Knox County Regional Forensic Center, toxicology results determined that she had both fentanyl and methamphetamine in her system at the time she died.

According to the family, who said the relationship was “toxic,” her boyfriend Bobby left their home to buy meth, and when he returned he discovered her body. In a statement, Daughtry confirmed the cause of death. “From a young age, Hannah struggled with mental illness and was in and out of therapy and treatment centers.

As Hannah got older, she struggled to find her footing and began using drugs and often found herself in abusive relationships,” Daughtry said, per NBC News. “Just months after losing her biological father to suicide, Hannah was the victim of a crime and was shot in the face. We did everything we could to support her and get her the help she needed to recover from these tragedies and get her life back on track.”

The statement also alleged that Bobby “physically abused” Hannah throughout their relationship, but foul play is not suspected. “Hannah was a generous and loving person who wanted more for herself and others,” the statement continued. “She will forever be in the hearts and minds of those of us who love her.”

Daughtry announced in November, when Hannah died, that he had paused his band’s extensive North American tour. Hannah was Deanna Daughtry’s child from a previous relationship, alongside her 23-year-old brother Griffin. Chris and Deanna married in 2000, and also share children in 10-year-old twins Adalynn Rose and Noah James.
