The royal family usually spends the holidays together. So, fans are hoping that they will reunite on Christmas and New Year’s Day.

However, royal expert Russell Myers doesn’t think that’s the case. He warned fans that there are still a lot of things to work out between the two.

“Tensions are still running high. That Oprah Winfrey interview is still ingrained in the memory,” Russell said per Express. “Now there’s a lot of distance between the two both metaphorically and physically.”

He added that the distance between the royal siblings might be good in “cooling” their relationship.

Queen Elizabeth II lost her husband, Prince Philip, in April. However, Her Majesty has taken more workload. According to Myers, the Queen has a lot of lunches and dinners in her diary. Apparently, she wants to keep herself busy and doesn’t want to be alone.

He added that the Queen would want every family member over for Christmas. And it’s probably the opportunity for Prince William and Prince Harry to reunite.

“It would be a really good thing for the family,” he added. Russell also added that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would not consider flying back to the U.K. if the Queen hadn’t spent a night in the hospital.

Royal biographer Penny Junor commented after Prince Harry and Markle decided to skip Prince William’s event for Princess Diana. According to the royal expert, it was a “great shame” that they couldn’t come home for it.

For her, snubbing the event was a sign that they were not interested in making things work with Prince William. The upcoming event was supposed to happen during the unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue. At the time, Prince Harry flew to the U.K. sans Markle who had just given birth to their daughter, baby Lili.
