Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Oprah interview affects royals’ security?

Richard Eden took to Twitter Tuesday to air his concern about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s allegation against the royal family. According to the English broadcaster and Daily Mail Diary Editor, he was “genuinely” worried that the Sussexes’ racist criticism against the royals would harm them.

“I genuinely worry that Prince Harry and #Meghan‘s criticism of unnamed ‘racist’ royals has increased the danger of attacks on the #Royal Family. Security needs to be stepped up as a result,” he tweeted.

Eden’s post received mixed responses from the netizens. Many agreed with him while others argued.

Several netizens sided with Eden. One said she was wondering why the royal couple considered the remark about their unborn child’s skin color racist.

Her nephew’s girlfriend is having a baby and some family members asked her about her unborn child’s skin color since she’s half Malay. The netizen said she asked the mom if she found the question offensive and the latter said: “not at all.”

Another user sarcastically asked Eden why he was worried about the royals’ safety. The user said it was funny that he didn’t feel the same way for Prince Harry and Markle when the royal family removed their security putting them at risk. Also, the Sussexes allegedly received threats on a daily basis from people Eden allegedly follows and interacts with.

Meghan and Prince Harry’s racist allegations revisited

In March, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey for a CBS special. During the chat, Markle mentioned that there were discussions about their unborn child’s skin color.

The royal couple declined to drop a name. According to them, it would be very damaging to the royal family. However, their revelation sparked racist allegations toward the royal family. Prince William denied that they are racist. The Queen said that their recollection of the incident may vary.

Meanwhile, in Christopher Andersen’s new book Brothers And Wives: Inside The Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan, the author claimed it was Prince Charles who asked about the unborn child’s skin color. However, he said the Prince of Wales only asked it without malice, which is normal for family members.

However, scheming courtiers gave it a racist spin and it evolved into a “toxic” story by the time it reached Prince Harry and Markle, Andersen added.

Prince Charles denied the claim in Andersen’s tome. “This is fiction and not worth further comment,” his rep told the reports, as per Reuters.
