As he made an appearance at a baseball game, alongside his son Connor in San Francisco, fans of Tom Cruise were left to ask what he ‘had done to his face as they pointed out how different the actor looked.
Tom Cruise has always been one of the heartthrobs of Hollywood, but people couldn’t help but note how noticeably different he looked in recent photos as his usually chiseled visage appeared puffy.
The Mission Impossible actor attended Game 2 of the National League Division Series with his son and smiled for photos, but many social media users debated the cause of his new look.
Twitter began to question whether it was even Tom Cruise who had attended the game or just someone who looked vaguely like him.
Others commented that he almost looked like the Canadian stand-up Norm Macdonald, the former SNL star who passed away last month.
Twitter, as usual, didn’t hold back when it came to speculation around Tom’s face as one user speculated wildly: ‘Tom Cruise has either gained weight, or he has a face full of fillers. I’m going with the fillers.’
A second said: ‘We are all in denial…I too can’t believe this is Tom cruise. What has he done to that beautiful face.’

I know I shouldn't comment on a gentleman's looks, but what happened to Tom Cruise's face? I thought Scientology held the cure for everything including aging. 🙄⚾️ pic.twitter.com/TujWDLgyB7

But some jumped to his defense, and called out the people who were taking shots at him sharing: ‘Tom Cruise putting some weight on in his face because he’s prob not filming a movie requiring him to be in not-human shape and getting memed all over for it feels awfully yucky to me.’

Many users had genuine concern over what exactly had happened to his face, as a puffed-up appearance could be caused by anything from a sinus infection to a side effect from medication, but the cause of the star’s appearance is yet to be addressed by the star or his team.
