Prince William was wary of Prince Harry’s decision to address Meghan Markle’s issue in a statement, a new book claimed.
Author Christopher Andersen recently released the book Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan, where he revealed details about Prince William and Prince Harry’s lives when Meghan Markle came.

According to Andersen, Prince William was cautious when he saw his brother telling the press to back off when the Duke of Sussex’s relationship with Meghan became public.
Following the statement’s release, the Duke of Cambridge was particularly worried about the former actress’s safety since she suffered from a wave of abuse and harassment already.
“It’s interesting to see the differences between the way William and Harry handle the press. Harry was the one who went to William during his six-week break up with Kate Middleton [before they married] and said, ‘What are you doing? Are you crazy? Go back.’
And he did. It took 10 years, but Kate landed her prince and they are a great match,” he told Fox News. However, the author also described Prince Harry and Meghan’s relationship as a whirlwind.
In response to this, Prince William, reportedly, advised his brother to take it easy and not rush his relationship with Meghan. Unfortunately, Prince Harry took it differently and felt furious over his brother’s comment.
Although the Duke of Cambridge supported the release of the statement, he, reportedly, did it “reluctantly.” In the same statement, Andersen noted how the Duke of Sussex hoped to welcome Meghan instead.

However, the Duchess of Cambridge, reportedly, offered the same treatment as her husband and was cautious about Meghan being a new member of the royal family. “She has a very tight circle of friends.
She doesn’t let a lot of people in. By all accounts, she’s charming and very intelligent. But she’s also suspicious of outsiders. She delayed even meeting Meghan. And I think that confused Meghan in the beginning,” the author went on.
Meghan and Kate eventually got along, but it did not last that long. In the past months, Meghan has been subject to criticisms for, allegedly, bullying several staff and making Kate cry. The British media and royal staff also made nicknames for her, including Me-Gain and Duchess Difficult.

Things went worse when Prince Harry and Meghan sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year. Although the royal brothers met several times this year, their rift continues to exist.
