Marc Jacobs is to become the first major fashion house by making a clothing line for women larger then size 14 that will be available in a year’s time.
"We are in the very beginning stages of talking to a partner about plus sizes." Said Robert Duffy, the label’s president.
However, the announcement is debatable as many fashion designers have said that it is harder to create clothes for lager women because of different amount of weight on different areas of their body.
Besides, Karl Lagerfeld and Julien Macdonald have condemned moves by the fashion industry to use larger models as "absurd" and "a joke".
