Fashion designer Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy let the dogs rather snarling teeth-baring Rottweilers out on the runway at Paris Fashion Week to showcase his 2011 menswear collection!

No, don’t get me wrong for it was not the real Rottweiler modeling for Givenchy, but real models with ‘Rottweilers’ as the central motif of the collection. They appeared an angry pack with baggy dress shirts and shorts; they were appliquéd solo onto baggy sweatshirts (above the capital letters RTTWLR and between the words ‘est’ and ‘1995’) and were even employed as an all-over print across the yoke and down the arms of a shirt. Celebrating its 3rd year, Bahrain Fashion Week (BFW) is fast becoming an attraction for designers regionally and internationally by delivering a multinational and diverse fashion experience.

After the closure of the BFW 2009 season, BFW has established itself as a highly successful and widely recognized event, providing a forum to nurture and celebrate the fashion industry in Bahrain and it’s neighboring countries. Los Angeles Fashion Weekend is coming back to Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood for its fourth season on October 15 to 17, 2010. The event will feature a combination of individual and group shows from both emerging and internationally established designers.

LA Fashion Weekend will kick off on Friday, October 15 with an opening performance by Christine Milian launching C. Milian Eyewear followed by White Trash Beautiful, a line designed for the femme fetale. This edgy and modern chic line is collaboration from Bon Jovi guitarist, Richie Sambora and designer-musician Nikki Lund. The following evening will also showcase fashion-forward looks by Los Angeles based designers JL Marks and Joy Rich.

In Addition to supporting designers, LA Fashion Weekend also benefits The Green Youth Movement. The official host of the Green Initiative Humanitarian Fashion Show will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 16. This show will be the only open-invitation event during LA Fashion Weekend. Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) has entered into a strategic collaboration with fashion trade portal Fashion and you as part of its push to further the business of fashion by using e-commerce. The portal has created a special “Launch My Line” space to promote designers from the Gen Next and Emerging sections of the upcoming Winter/Festive 2010 edition of LFW (September 17-21).  It will also host targeted sales events to promote all LFW designers. Gen Next features interesting new designers at the start of their careers, while Emerging shows designers who have been in the business for around 4-5 years.

Fashion And You is a private shopping club that features top international and Indian designers and runs limited-time sales offering discounts of up to 80 percent off retail prices. Membership is by invitation only but is free and open to global consumers. Other highlights of the Winter/Festive 2010 edition of LFW include the Gen Next 5 show, which marks the five-year anniversary of Gen Next. The show will feature ten previous Gen Next designers including Aneeth Arora, Anuj Sharma and Kallol Datta.

The event will also feature leading Indian designers Manish Arora and Ritu Kumar, marking the first time they’ve appeared on the LFW runway. Malini Ramani will present the Lakme Grand Finale with the theme “Gypsy Collection,” which is influenced by her travels around the globe. OFW was first held in February 2004, and is arranged twice a year, in February and August.
It was launched to promote Norwegian fashion design, and to set Norwegian design in an international context. OFW is the main showcase promoting Norwegian designers and their collections. During OFW in February the award “Naloyet”, given by the magazine HENNE , is awarded to last year’s best Norwegian designer after a fashion show presenting all the nominees. This ceremony is part of the official opening night and has been every February since 2005.

• NICE: Nordic Initiative Clean and Ethical, is the result of an initiative OFW took. Tone S. Tobiasson coined the name and is today the coordinator for Norway’s contributions and projects, along with being editor.
