King Charles and his eldest son were apparently having some friction over a reconciliation with Prince Harry, as William remains furious with his brother. Although the monarch and the heir are “united” on their stance about the Sussexes remaining non-working royals.
The Prince of Wales was already reeling from the return of his estranged brother when an age-old feud is threatening the already shaken peace in the Palace.
Things were already frosty between the King and his former brother-in-law, and the rift may be reignited.
Princess Diana is a sensitive topic for both William and Harry, and it took a long time for the brothers to come to terms with their grief and everything that went behind the scenes. It also involved the royals allegedly limiting contact of the princes with their mother’s side of the family.
However, Diana’s brother, Earl Charles Spencer’s upcoming book on his sister would be dropping new bombshells which leave William in a tough spot with his father.
According to royal insiders, Prince William could be forced to take a side.
“The truth is that Charles [Spencer] wants his nephews reunited and it’s never going to happen with an ocean between them,” a source told Woman’s Day.
“He’s been pushing for Harry and Meghan to move back to the UK and it’s true he’s done everything he can to make sure they’re as comfortable as possible,” they continued. “It’s the only way, but for someone like William, it’s going to feel like he’s taking a side.”
Prince William’s uncle is expected to rehash the painful events of Diana’s death and never-before-shared details in his new book, Swan Song, ahead of the late Princess’s 30th death anniversary.
The Palace cannot do much about it as it is Spencer family matter and not the royals.
