A Malaysian woman recently shared a distressing incident on TikTok, revealing that she was left traumatized after discovering that one of her friends had breastfed her baby without her knowledge or consent. The TikTok video detailing the alleged betrayal has garnered over 2.9 million views.

In the video, the woman, known as Afieqahhasanah on TikTok, expressed her shock and disappointment over the incident. According to AsiaOne, the incident took place earlier this month during a family gathering. As the mother was occupied with event planning, she entrusted her child, Haider, to her friend’s care.

While carrying out her tasks, the mother noticed something unusual happening in the background. She realized that her friend was breastfeeding Haider without her permission. Disturbed by this unexpected discovery, she confronted her friend about the incident.

The friend attempted to justify her actions by claiming that Haider was crying and in need of food. However, the mother found this explanation questionable, as she had recently fed her son. The incident deeply affected the mother, and she expressed her lingering distress and difficulty in accepting what had occurred.

To make matters worse, this was not the first time the friend had allegedly breastfed the baby without consent. According to Afieqahhasanah, her mother had previously caught the friend in the act.

The mother shared her ongoing struggle to overcome the incident, emphasizing the difficulty she now faces in trusting others. She has become more cautious about allowing random physical contact with her children, fearing potential disease transmission.

The American Academy of Pediatrics discourages informal breastmilk sharing due to the risks associated with transmitting diseases and potential exposure to medications, alcohol, drugs, or contaminants. The organization recommends that, if necessary, mothers supplement their own breastmilk with formula or use milk donated from certified milk banks.

While informal milk sharing has gained popularity in recent times, it is important to prioritize the health and well-being of infants by following established guidelines and seeking safe alternatives.
