From October 28 to 31, 2010, Lviv Fashion Week will be taking place in Lviv. Kenzo Takada will be the guest of honour of the sixth season. It is going to be the first visit of the Mr.Kenzo to Ukraine at the invitation of the Lviv Fashion Week organizers.
Autumn Lviv Fashion Week will take place at various locations which will be its distinctive feature. New Exhibition centre Shuvar-Expo will host the majority of the events. Other events will be held at the historical Lviv House of Scientists as well as Rafinad People Club.
Major couturiers along with young budding designers from Ukraine, Poland, Georgia and India will be displaying their new spring/summer 2011 collections for 4 days. The shows of Oksana Mukha, Zinaida Likhachova, Constantin Ponomaryov, Mykytuk&Yatsentyuk, MALVA-FLOREA, La Germaine, Viktoria Selezniova and others are on the agenda. One of the major Polish designers Joanna Klimas is going to present her collection for the first time in Ukraine in frames of cooperation between Lviv Fashion Week and its Polish partner Fashion Philosophy Fashion Week Poland.
The grand opening of Lviv Fashion Week on October 28, 2010 will include the presentation of a new online-publication dedicated to fashion and style D’ÉPATE. Promoted as a brand new fashion project, the online-magazine D’ÉPATE, will, through challenging stereotypes, pose the concept of fashion from the point of view of the art.
Lviv Fashion Week backs events directed at supporting young designers. In frames of October Lviv Fashion Week, a new project aimed at helping very young but highly ambitious designers, the students of Lviv National Academy of Arts, join the world of fashion, will be presented. The most creative collections of the LNAA will be demonstrated on Thursday, October 28.
In frames of partnership with the International Garments Designers Competition “The Golden Thread” (Poland), Lviv Fashion Week continues the project for budding designers SABOTAGE. The SABOTAGE shows will take place on Friday, October 29, 2010. A competent jury will estimate the collections and appoint the winners; the author of the collection granted the Grand Prix will participate in the finale of the International Garments Designers Competition “The Golden Thread” (Poland) in frames of Fashion Week Poland in May, 2011. “The Golden Thread” has existed for 19 years already and is known as one of the most prestigious European competitions for promising designers.
Every day of Lviv Fashion Week will witness fashionable improvisations presented by FotyMody – a hyper-dynamic company focused on the promotion of fashionable photography: organization of fashionable photo sessions, issuing of an online-magazine of fashionable photo sessions and analytical research in the sphere of fashion industry.
Approximately 12 000 visitors are expected at Lviv Fashion Week on October 28-31. It is one of the most significant fashion events in Eastern Europe, in frames of which everyday shows of prêt-a-porter and prêt-a-porter de luxe garment collections with simultaneous presentations of designer collections in showrooms, art-actions, art, jewelry and photo exhibitions will take place.
