Royal shock: Why Camilla is the ‘ideal’ mother-in-law to Meghan Markle

CAMILLA, Duchess of Cornwall, is the ‘ideal’ mother-in-law for Meghan Markle, a royal commentator has claimed.

The Daily Mail’s Angela Levin has praised the Duchess of Cornwall for welcoming Meghan Markle to the royal family over the last couple of years.

She said that since Meghan tied the knot with Prince Harry at Windsor Castle, Camilla has gone out of her way to make her feel welcome in the royal fold. Ms Levin added that the two Duchess’ get along as they both married into the Royal Family as outsiders.

Levin wrote: “Camilla gets on very well with [Meghan].

“Not least because both of them have joined the Royal Family from the outside,

“Camilla goes out of her way to find time to spend with Meghan, to get to know her and make her feel welcome.

Photos of the two show them enjoying each other’s company at various events,

This included a reception for Prince Charles‘ 70th birthday at Buckingham Palace just a couple of days after her wedding.

Camila is also believed to have supported Meghan and Harry’s decision to step away from the Royal Family this year.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the shocking decision to renounce royalty in January.

Sources claimed Camila encouraged the pair to leave the family and “follow her heart.”

The outbound couple had their final public engagement as royals on March 9.

The couple left under intense media scrutiny and seek a more private life.

The news of their departure came after Harry announced a lawsuit against the Mail on Sunday and it’s parent company, Associated Newspapers.

They claimed that the paper committed misuse of private information and breaching the Data Protection Act 2018.

A private letter allegedly from Meghan to her father was published.

Camilla Parker Bowles has not always had an easy time in the royal family.

Her love affair with the heir to the throne is said to be what really drove Charles and Diana apart.

After they got a divorce, Charles and Camilla started dating and eventually tied the knot in 2005.

Meghan’s departure from the Royal Family comes after rumours of a second child on the way.

She gave birth to her first child with Harry, Archie, in May 2019.

Bookmakers Coral have 1/3 odds on the second pregnancy announcement before years end.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “We think that a second baby is definitely on the cards for Harry and Meghan.

“Once the pair have officially stepped down from their royal duties it should be a case of when, not if, the announcement comes.”
