Ariana Grande’s decision to take an indefinite hiatus from public-facing work has prompted concern among fans, with some calling for support from her team, family and friends.

The 33-year-old singer is expected to conclude her Eternal Sunshine tour on September 1, 2026, before taking a break from public appearances.

Grande’s representative said she is looking to finish the tour “on a high note, both healthily and happily”.

The representative added, “She performs a very physical show, and there is a lot of athleticism involved. She performs healthily and successfully at a very high level night after night.”

Grande’s appearance has faced renewed discussion online following the release of her “Petal” music video, with some fans expressing concern about her health while others have criticized continued commentary about her body.

Some fans welcomed the hiatus and argued that Grande should have time away from online scrutiny. One user wrote, “Good for her tbh, the constant body comments are exhausting as hell,” while another said, “Good. I hope she gets rest and peace and all the things she needs.”

Others questioned the timing of the decision, particularly as Grande has been promoting her new album. One user wrote, “This is our opening album week. This doesn’t make any sense at all.”

Amid the discussion, some fans believe Grande’s team, family and friends should intervene if they are concerned about her wellbeing.

One fan wrote, “if you’re an Ari fan this should be the best news ever because it seems like she’s finally going to get treatment. work will always be there, her health will not”, while another added “I agree the scrutiny has been harsh and misdirected but she is clearly not well. I hope she has a good support system around her”.

Others argue that a hiatus could be counterproductive if it suggests she has been negatively affected by online comments and public concern. “congrats you idiots. you bullied and harassed someone you’ve convinced yourselves has been suffering from extreme ed to the point she’s felt the need to go into hiding which is the last thing she should be doing for her mental health”, a fan added.

Grande is also stepping back from Sunday in the Park with George, which will proceed without her.
