Report: Baby Gabriel’s mom Elizabeth Johnson is having another Baby

When Baby Gabriel disappeared more than 11 years ago, his young mom, Elizabeth Johnson, became a household name. Now she’s making headlines again because Baby Gabriel, if he’s alive, is going to be a big brother.

Gabriel, who would have turned 12 earlier this month, vanished in December 2009. Johnson took Gabriel, then 8 months old, to San Antonio in violation of a custody agreement with his father, Logan McQueary. She told McQueary that she smothered the baby, but changed her story, claimed she gave him to a couple she met in a San Antonio Park. An extensive search for the baby went nowhere. Whatever really happened, Gabriel was never seen again.

In 2016, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children released an age-progression photo of what Gabriel might have looked like. He would have been 6 years old.

Investigators in San Antonio say the baby is dead, according to FoxSanAntonio.com. Here in Arizona, Gabriel is still listed as missing.

A private investigator told Fox San Antonio that there’s evidence that Johnson’s story about giving Gabriel to a San Antonio couple for adoption is true. Sandy Peters, Gabriel’s aunt, agrees.

While we might never know what happened to Gabriel, we do know that his mom, after serving prison time on a custodial interference conviction, moved to New Mexico and apparently got on with her life.

Fox San Antonio Investigative Reporter Yami Virgin, who has covered the Baby Gabriel story extensively, on Thursday shared the latest news about Johnson – and it’s a headline Gabriel’s family is not happy about.

“According to Sandy Peters, baby Gabriel’s aunt, Elizabeth posted pictures last week, just hours before Gabriel’s birthday, of herself, very pregnant in a bikini,” Virgin wrote. “According to her Facebook page, Elizabeth is pregnant again. And reading comments on one of her posts, many believe this is her first child.”

McQueary is married now and has three more children, but Peters says Gabriel is never far from their thoughts.

Project Absentis, a nonprofit group created by a former FBI special agent specifically to investigate missing person cases, is looking at Baby Gabriel’s disappearance.
