This is how other ‘financially independent’ royals make dosh

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have decided that it is time to step back as senior members of the royal family.

As part of their statement, they confirmed that they would become ‘financially independent’ from the institute.

While senior members of the royals rely on the family’s fund, other members of the family have jobs. Take a look at what some of the other royals do to make their coin.

Princess Beatrice

While she is a princess, Beatrice still makes her own way in the world.

Beatrice works as the Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at Afiniti, a multinational data and software company based in Washington, D.C.

Before this, she worked as an associate at Sandbridge capital, a small consumer-focused private equity firm.

She previously worked as a Business development associate at Sony pictures television before resigning in 2014.

Princess Eugenie

Beatrice’s sister, Eugenie is also a member of the ‘financially independent’ royals.

She works as a director for Mayfair-based gallery Hauser & Wirth. Neither Beatrice or Eugenie receive any money from the Queen.

After graduating from Newcastle University in September 2009, after studying English Literature and the History of Art, Eugenie moved to New York.

She worked for online auction firm Paddle8, before moving back to London in 2015 to start a career with Hauser & Wirth. While her husband, Jack Brooksbank, works as an ambassador for Casamigos.

Zara Tindall

Zara is probably best known for being an incredible horse rider, she won silver at the 2012 London Olympics as part of the British eventing team.

On top of her equestrian career, in 2018 she was unveiled as a new ambassador for iCandy prams’ £1,500 ‘all-terrain’ buggy.

That’s not her only brand ambassador role. No, she is also an ambassador for Rolex, Land Rover and Musto.

She also has her own jewellery range with Australian brand Cajella.

As Zara doesn’t have any royal titles, she has more freedom to do collabs than other family members.

Lady Amelia Windsor

Amelia Windsor is 39th in line to the throne. And she uses her incredible bone structure to work in the model world.

She is represented by Storm Model Management, the same agency as Lottie Moss. She has walked for Dolce & Gabbana at Milan Fashion Week in 2017 and has graced the cover of Tatler magazine twice.

She also posts some SponCon on her Instagram, including deals with Michael Kors.

Sophie Wessex

Sophie is married to Prince Edward, the Queen’s youngest son. But she had set up her own Public Relations company in 1997, two years before she married Edward.

And she wasn’t going to become a trophy wife, she has continued to work.

At a New York Gala in 2015, Sophie described herself as ‘one of the few ladies in the British Royal Family’ to have ‘climbed the career ladder’.
