Prince Harry describes Kate Middleton as “the sister I’ve never had and always wanted”

In a week filled with notable events for Kate, the Princess of Wales – from her stylish appearance at Wimbledon’s final game to speculations about her ascending role in the royal family – the spotlight has turned to her relationship with her brother-in-law, Prince Harry.

Details from Harry’s candid memoir, ‘Spare,’ made headlines this week, where he shares his appreciation for Kate and their sibling-like relationship. Harry, who is known to have a close bond with Kate, showers her with praise in his memoir.

In the book, he describes her as a sister he never had and expressed happiness about her being the perfect match for his elder brother. “I loved my new sister-in-law,” he states in ‘Spare,’ adding that “She was a good match for my older brother. They made each other visibly happy, and therefore I was happy too.”

In the memoir, the Duke of Sussex also shares his first impressions of Kate when she started dating his brother William, describing her as carefree, sweet, and knowledgeable about art, photography, and fashion.

In addition to appreciating her personality, Prince Harry also admired Kate’s sense of humor. He writes, “I liked making her laugh,” and further adds that he found comfort in envisioning the three of them laughing together in the future. His words reveal the deep bond he shares with Kate and his anticipation for her to become part of their close-knit group.
