Following the court’s ruling against Prince Harry’s request to pay for his own police protection in the UK, experts weighed in on the likelihood of the Sussexes making a trip back to the country anytime soon.

Shannon Felton Spence, a moderator, public speaker, and TV commentator, emphasized that Prince Harry has expressed feeling unsafe in the UK and is focused on building his life in California. She believes that, with the court’s decision and their move away from Frogmore Cottage, it is unlikely to see the Sussex family in the UK for a significant period.

Royal author Christopher Andersen shared a similar perspective, stating that it is difficult to imagine any reason, apart from a royal funeral or a court appearance, that would bring Prince Harry and Meghan back to the UK in the near future, told Fox News Digital.

Ian Pelham Turner, a journalist, and broadcaster, considered the decision to deny Prince Harry’s financing of his security protection as another setback for the couple. He suggested exploring new methods of financing royal projects in light of the changing times and public expectations. Turner believes that the court decision could further hinder the couple’s return to Britain.

Prince Harry sought a judicial review after his request to pay for his police protection was declined by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec). His legal team argued that Ravec exceeded its authority, but the UK Home Office countered by expressing concerns about the potential implications of granting the request.

The Home Office’s legal team rejected the idea of allowing a “wealthy person to ‘buy’ protective security” and highlighted the risk of specialist officers serving as bodyguards.

Overall, the court ruling and the differing perspectives of the experts indicate that Prince Harry’s return to the UK and his ability to finance his own security remain uncertain.
