The “Things a Man Oughta Know” singer had an amazing night. The 30-year-old stunned with an orange velvet jacket and bell-bottom pants, bringing her own distinct flair to the red carpet. She completed the look with bold turquoise jewelry and a big-brimmed hat. What about her date? So she brought the guy who matters the most to her—her father (Awww).
Between performing “Wait in the Truck” with Hardy and helping with a special tribute to the iconic Alan Jackson, Lainey captured everyone’s hearts and was named Best New Artist and Female Vocalist of the Year.
Lainey revealed in an interview with Country Living earlier this year that “Her life revolves around country music. Growing up, she had no idea country music was a genre. [She] simply assumed that was a way of life.” Her hard work paid off after years of effort, and tears started to fall as she took her award.

“If you know me, you know that I am rarely speechless, and I am very baffled right now,” she joked, before presenting the honor to her 9-year-old self, who composed her first song.
When Lainey was surprised to win Female Vocalist of the Year, the tears came.
