Acne is doing its first true runway show in London on September 19, 2010. The venue is an apartment at Kensington Palace, the former residence of Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon. The brand’s creative director, Jonny Johansson discovered it and could not resist its super strong turquoise color, “The apartments are really tiny, but that color just drew me in” he said.
Though some of the locales are disappointed that Acne is not even showing its pre collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 – Stockholm, which ends today. But Johansson is completely satisfied with London, where Acne has only done salon-style shows in the past.
“This time London will have a chance to see a lot of sheer and a large amount of leather” said Johansson adding, “I can’t say we have a lot of denim this season, but it’s a denim look, a tough look.”
