Meghan Markle and Harry break major Royal Family tradition as Sussexes ‘shake things up’

MEGHAN MARKLE and Prince Harry have taken an unusual approach to celebrate baby Archie’s birthday by posting a video of him, according to a royal commentator.

Camilla Tominey told ITV’s This Morning Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are changing it up by posting a video instead of an official portrait of the young royal. Ms Tominey also said she found hearing Prince Harry chuckling in the background of the video very funny.

ITV’s Holly Willoughby said: “This is quite different, isn’t it?

“We don’t normally see videos of the royal children to mark their birthdays.”

Ms Tominey replied: “Exactly, the Sussexes are really changing it up there.

“Because normally you would just expect an official portrait.

“I really like this video.

“I thought it was really heartfelt.

“I don’t know how many times it had been rehearsed!

“It was quite funny hearing Harry in the background chuckling away.

“They seemed to be really grateful once it had been filmed.”

Last month Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their foundation was called Archewell, similar to Archie, the name of their son.

Royal experts Zoe Burrell and Angela Mollard discussed the name during the ROYALS podcast.

Ms Burrell said: “They have confirmed the name of their foundation, haven’t they?”

Ms Mollard replied: “That is right, interestingly the only reason they actually confirmed the name of their foundation is because a newspaper had written about it and logged the fact that they had trademarked the name.

“So the name of their new foundation is Archewell.

“Obviously it sounds a lot like Archie and there is a reason for that.

“The reason is that arche is apparently a greek word meaning source of action.”
