Meghan Markle no longer ‘selling’ as magazine cover

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s popularity ratings “plummeted” in the United Kingdom.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to attract the attention of the public amid their new lives in the United States. However, they are no longer as popular as they used to be in the United Kingdom.

Royal expert and author Ingrid Seward told the Royally Obsessed podcast that the British public now displays a “changing perception” toward the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. She discussed the matter and how it affected her publication, according to the Daily Express.

When Meghan Markle joined the royal fold, her popularity increased across the globe. She, alongside Prince Harry, became the talk of the town, causing many publications to get them for covers of magazines.

But, following their exit earlier this year, as well as the controversies, Ingrid Seward said that they “stopped” having the Sussex couple on the cover. Reports noted that the royal expert is the Editor-in-Chief of the Majesty magazine.

She explained that when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are on the cover pages, the materials were not selling. She added that Hello! magazine also disclosed the same thing to her.

Seward continued that despite her wanting them to be on the covers again, “it does not work.” She then described the whole scenario as “interesting” and “weird.”

During the interview, the royal expert referenced one of the latest polls from YouGov. Based on the results, the “Royal Favourability” tracker displays an 18-point and a 19-point drop on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s scores, respectively.

The British internet-based firm, later on, released a more detailed figure on the said scores. The report reveals that the Duke of Sussex has a “divided” public opinion as 48 percent of the population has a “positive impression” and 47 percent perceive him negatively.

On the other hand, the Duchess of Sussex received her lowest popularity rating this October. The score shows that 33 percent of the public favors her, and 59 percent of the population has “negative opinions” of her.

Several netizens openly discussed the Duchess of Sussex’s popularity and fame, particularly in the United States. On Quora, many users considered that she is famous but “not well-liked.”

Other individuals agreed to the notions about Meghan Markle. In the end, the majority conceded that she is more “infamous” rather than a popular personality that the public usually likes and loves.
