Michelle Rodriguez lights up the red carpet in a racy semi-sheer gown as she attends the Cannes premiere of Mad Max

While Michelle Rodriguez is a self-confessed tomboy, she’s often proven that she can turn up the glamour whenever duty calls. And on Thursday night, the 36-year-old actress pulled out all the sartorial stops when she arrived at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Mad Max: Fury Road in a stunning semi-sheer black dress.

Her floor-length gown featured a leaf-shaped cut-out design over a nude underlay, while the skirt gave a view of her shapely, toned legs as she posed outside the Palais des Festivals.

Texas native Michelle appeared to be decidedly jovial as she smiled for the cameras while showing off her form-fitting ensemble of choice, which included a backless feature.

The screen star’s raven tresses were swept back in a neat bun, while she enhanced her natural beauty with just a light application of make-up. While she opted to largely forgo accessories, all eyes were drawn to her very large diamond ring, which almost captured as much attention as the star herself.

At the glittering event, she rubbed shoulders with the likes of Charlize Theron, who led a stellar line up as she arrived with her partner Sean Penn.

The actress, who stars in the movie alongside Tom Hardy, looked incredible in a strapless yellow dress as she walked hand in hand down the red carpet.

Showing off her curves in the head-turning dress, the blonde beauty worked her best poses as she and Sean joined a star-studded crowd at the Cannes premiere.

Oscar-winner Charlize takes on the role of Imperator Furiosa – a warrior with a shaved head and prosthetic arm, attempting to rescue a harem of wives held captive by a warlord – in the much anticipated post-apocalyptic film.

‘When people first started talking about this film, this loud whisper went around town that George was looking to create a female character that can stand next to Max and carry the journey with him,’ she said in a recent interview.

‘For a female actress, that always sounds intriguing. Look, we hear it all the time and very few filmmakers see that through.’
