Prince Charles, Camilla Accused of Double Standards for Doing This: report

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles have been accused of double standards for pushing their trip amid the travel restrictions due to the pandemic.

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles flew to Greece for an official trip. However, many were not impressed with the royal couple’s royal engagement abroad.

Prince Charles and Camilla slammed for double standards

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall traveled to Greece amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to attend the Bicentenary Independence Day celebrations in Athens.

Several slammed the future king and his wife because they were still able to fly despite the travel restrictions. However, their trip was classed as “essential” travel due to its diplomatic importance. Despite that, the trip sparked fury among the British public, New Idea reported.

During their trip, body language expert Judi James pointed out how Camilla let her husband, Prince Charles, take center stage. She was careful not to eclipse the heir apparent, and James believed that she made a conscious effort not to repeat Princess Diana’s mistake. The late Princess of Wales “effortlessly eclipsed” the Prince of Wales, Daily Mail reported.

James also pointed out how Camilla sticks close to Prince Charles or walks behind him. It was very different with Princess Diana, who usually walked ahead or independently of Prince Charles.

Prince William and Kate criticized too

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also came under fire for the same reason. In December, Prince William and Kate Middleton embarked on a three-day cross-country jail to thank the frontline workers in the United Kingdom. Disgruntled fans accused the future king and queen consort of breaking the UK’s strict COVID travel restrictions.

It wasn’t the only time royal fans were upset with the Cambridges. The royal couple also raised eyebrows when they traveled from London to Norfolk with their children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — to visit the Lumiere light show in the garden of the Sandringham Estate when Tier 4 rules were enforced.

It remains unknown when the family made the 200K journey, but it was assumed that it happened after Dec. 11, when Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s school holidays began.

At the time, London was moved from Tier 2 to Tier 3, which advised residents against traveling outside their area of residence. Meanwhile, Tier 4 requires the people to stay home.

To make the matter worse, the Cambridges were later spotted with Prince Edward’s family at the venue. Many complained because the royal family broke the U.K. government’s “rule of six.”

Finding Freedom Omid Scobie also reacted by sharing a report from Daily Mail about the Cambridges and Wessexes’ outing. He hinted that if the outing “involved a certain other royal couple,” the uproar would be worse. Scobie could be hinting about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who have been subjected to negative headlines over the years, especially when they were in the U.K.
