Prince William and Kate Middleton called out radio host over Princess Charlotte joke; Details Inside

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took radio host Greg James to task when he made a comment about Princess Charlotte’s first day of school.

Prince William and Kate Middleton recently turned protective of their family when radio host Greg James made a joke about Princess Charlotte on his BBC Radio 1 show, Breakfast With Greg James. International reports revealed that the Duke and Duchess took Greg James to task when he made a comment about Charlotte’s first day of school. On his show, James spoke about how the young Princess had to shake the teacher’s hand on her first day of school.

In an interview with The Mirror, James revealed, “I saw the photo during the show and said, ‘Who the hell shakes hands with their teacher on the first day?’” The radio host went to say that a few days later he found himself face to face with William and Kate. Elaborating about the meeting, James said, “They said, ‘We were listening on the morning of little Charlotte’s first day, and we want to talk to you about the handshaking thing …’ I went, ‘Oh, God, no!’” he recalled.

“They’d heard me saying this school was so posh they had to shake hands with their teacher every day. They were not like that in my day. You were pleased if you got a smile,” James revealed. Despite this little run-in, the radio host clarified that it’s fine. “I’m sure it’s all absolutely fine,” he said.
