According to Woman’s Day, Prince William understands that there’s no hope for Prince Harry to return to his royal duties. But he still wants him home so that they could be closer to each other.
In the past, the Duke of Cambridge tried a businesslike approach while asking Prince Harry to return to his hometown. But the dad of three is now trying to shower his younger brother with warmth and love.
“William is deeply hurt by the way things have panned out. And he’s distressed by Harry painting the royal family as some kind of evil mafia that wouldn’t accept his wife. But their brotherly bond was so strong as boys, and he wants to rebuild it as a matter of priority. He would forgive Harry, no questions asked even if Harry never returns as a working royal,” the source said.
Prince William feels bad for Prince Harry
The insider also claimed that Kate Middleton’s husband had a change of heart after remembering how miserable Princess Diana was when she was still alive.
“It really pulls at William’s emotional side to see Harry go through this alone. He was so young when Diana died and he in some ways, suffered much more than William,” the source said.
The Duke of Cambridge tried to convince Queen Elizabeth
According to the source, Prince William even tried to convince Queen Elizabeth to not strip his brother of his military titles.
“He knew that was his final, tangible tie to the monarchy and he was anxious for him to keep it. Though she made up her mind on that, it was William’s idea for the queen to include in her Megxit statement last month that Harry and Meghan remain much-loved members of the family,” the source said.
Prince Harry reveals he and Prince William are giving each other space
However, the tabloid’s claims couldn’t be farther from the truth.
During his interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry dished on his relationship with his older brother. He said that they currently have some space. And he hopes to eventually reconcile with Prince William and Prince Charles.
