Net-a-Porter dot com Hosts a Dinner in Honor of Victoria Beckham and Chloé Hosts a Cocktail to Celebrate the Reopening of the Madison Avenue Boutique.

Tea roses in blush greeted guests as they gathered at the Bowery Hotel rooftop to celebrate designer Victoria Beckham. Natalie Massenet and Alison Loehnis along with Net-a-Porter hosted a dinner to toast the brand’s diffusion line, Victoria, Victoria Beckham.

The entire room was decked out DJ Tennessee Thomas, Garance Doré, and a model brigade consisting of Hanne Gaby Odiele, Ginta Lapina, and Ola Rudnicka were all on hand. “She’s great,” said Shala Monroque in a VVB resort dress with color block feather accents at the hem. “Her pieces are very figure flattering.” Tali Lennox, in a dazzling ruby red resort piece from VVB said, “I’ve always been a fan even when she was a Spice Girl.”

Sprinkled around the room during cocktails were Eva Chen, Tiffany & Co. design director Francesca Amfitheatrof, and Olivia Palermo. “I like how clean it is,” said Palermo of her VVB resort dress and clutch.

Bringing up the English contingent were designers Erdem Moralioglu and Tabitha Simmons in a flounced hem look from VVB. “I think it’s a beautiful, perfect, and with a precise aesthetic,” said Simmons, “what woman doesn’t want to look sexy?” Beckham, perfectly bronzed in a black slip dress with a hint of skin, said, “It’s exciting [to be presenting at resort] as this is my first full pre-collection. We pushed the signature dresses, but there are lots of separates too.” With guests including Jonny Lu, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, and Vogue’s Mark Holgate taking their seats for dinner, Massenet kicked off the meal by recounting her first encounter with the designer.

“Victoria is very driven,” said Massenet who was wearing an elegant frock from Beckham’s mainline label, before noting that it was at the time of her first meeting with the then Victoria Adams, that she’d just started seeing a young soccer star named David. Beckham took the mike next and thanked her team and the Net-a-Porter team before cheekily saying, “we have to not behave ourselves tonight and then I might get back on the microphone.” With tequila shots served post-dinner a favorite of the VB team it’s likely she went up for an encore.

Meanwhile over on Madison Avenue, it was clear that there isn’t much that can come between a girl and her Chloé as the downtown style set joined creative director Clare Waight Keller in celebrating the grand re-opening of the house’s boutique. Sporting an emerald green striped blouse and frayed canvas wedges of her own design, Waight Keller was eager to showcase the new and improved outpost. “I remember coming here back in the 90s so it’s great to really usher in the new era,” she explained. “It’s important to me to feel like you have the spirit of Chloé throughout the store.”

Guests including Chloe Nørgaard, Natalie Massenet, and Leandra Medine praised the renovations and raved about the resort collection as they mingled amid crisp crystalline vitrines displaying gilded accessories. “The gold is kind of amazing, right?” asked Maggie Gyllenhaal. An expectant Anya Ziourova, who looked radiant in a cotton lace shift by the house, couldn’t help but profess her love as well. “I feel so happy in this! Chloé saved me tonight,” she announced. “Clare is doing an amazing job. She keeps the DNA of Chloé fresh and at the same time responds to the roots of the brand.”

On the second floor, where ready-to-wear hangs on structures evocative of modernist sculpture, models Irina Sharipova and Lina Spangenberg perused the collection before posing for pictures in the brand’s signature oversized shades. As they prepared to depart, an Instaprinter generated copies of their #chloeGIRLS selfies for them to take home. At the stroke of eight, just over twenty guests migrated slightly south for a private dinner at Upper Eastside eatery, the East Pole. “I feel like I must have been French in a past life,” admitted DJ Vashtie Kola to Dree Hemingway over glasses of Sancerre. When it comes to Chloé, don’t we all?
