The line snaked down a tiki torch lit path and right out onto Water Mill Towd Road as guests waited patiently to enter Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center Summer Benefit, this year marking its twentieth anniversary in support of the international artist residency and exhibition space.

Once Rick Owens, Cindy Sherman, and artists Richard Phillips and Josephine Meckseper made their way inside, they filtered through the center’s cylinder Knee Building, pausing to check out Carl Lawrence’s Remembrance before stepping into an open expanse where the silent auction and cocktails were held.

“It’s one of those events where you have to completely ignore all the beautiful people to take in everything else happening around you,” noted Lindsey Wixson in a crimson one-shoulder Gabriela Cadena. To that end, guests migrated between the auction tent and the rest of the grounds where more performance and art installations were on view.

Fabiola Beracasa, Misha Nonoo, Genevieve Jones, Lisa Marie Fernandez, and Anh Duong meandered through the woods, stopping to mull over several of the works, one of which was a masked man holding a staff atop a large white cube, the front of which displayed random tweets that changed when he tapped his staff with a resounding boom. One of these tweets came from Lady Gaga who had just arrived, sporting a newly pierced septum with Marina Abramović.

As the sun began to set beyond the trees, Eddie Borgo, Hannah Bronfman, Harry Brant, Aaron Young, and the Webster’s Laure Hériard Dubreuil moved into the tented dinner where Alan Cumming, Winona Ryder, and Gaga all spoke highly of Wilson and his achievements on behalf of the center.

Simon de Pury then took the floor to begin the live auction, featuring pieces by Abramovic, Wilson, Dieter Meier, and Roya Akhavan, to name a few. Post dinner, cochairs Mollie Ruprecht and Devon Radziwill led the way back into the tent, where DJ Nick Cohen provided the late-night entertainment.

Meanwhile in Montauk, Shailene Woodley, Dylan Lauren, and Lauren Bush Lauren spread out on blankets under what was practically a full moon for a screening of The Spectacular Now, hosted by the Cinema Society and Samsung at the Crow’s Nest.

Pre-screening, guests enjoyed a beachside dinner of oysters and clams from the raw bar, red quinoa tabour, octopus salad, and merguez skewers off the grill followed by s’mores fireside. Woodley and Miles Teller, who star as a couple on-screen in the film, were the last two to leave.

And finally in Amagansett, Jessica and Jerry Seinfeld and Rag & Bone cohosted the sixth Baby Buggy summer dinner at chez Seinfeld in support of the nonprofit, which offers families in need equipment and clothing. Marcus Wainwright and Glenna Neece, and David Neville and Gucci Westman, joined Cameron Diaz, Naomi Watts, Hilary Rhoda, and Alec Baldwin for the intimate fete.
