Celine had presented its Spring Summer 2011 collection on October 3rd, during the Paris Fashion Week. After the latest runway of Fall 2010/11 where Phoebe Philo showed a finesse equitation collection now, she brings the artisanal roots to develop her new

Philo is clearly obsessed with clean lines and crisp tailoring, and this minimalist chic has been the focus of a whole new wave of more subdued pieces taking to the runway. The Spring/Summer 2011 collection has proven to be more of the same with crisp whites, starch leather pieces and a pattern or two thrown in for good measure. What is so fascinating about her tailored pieces is that they stand alone void of pattern, but somehow they enthral and capture your attention spectacularly.
Phoebe Philo’s influence extends from the highest echelons of style is there an editor in the front row who hasn’t bought Celine’s structured two-handle tote all the way to the high street. Backstage, she insisted that she hasn’t noticed "Don’t have time to shop," she said. Still, if what she did on her runway today wasn’t an intentional rebuff to her copy artists, she’s just made their jobs a whole lot more difficult.
Her collection was too relaxed, with oversized tops and men’s style trousers creating a look that is more hospital scrubs than high fashion. Of course there are some beautiful pieces in this collection, but Philo’s work for the brand is not actually that groundbreaking.
