The autumn/winter 2010/2011 collection is characterised by contrasts, which resemble the hidden life in a love affair. The collection feels soft, but sometimes looks hard. Then it feels hard and looks soft.

The autumn/winter 2010/2011 collection is characterised by contrasts, which resemble the hidden life in a love affair. The collection feels soft, but sometimes looks hard. Then it feels hard and looks soft.

Designer Marcel Ostertag has entered a love affair with fashion. You can see and feel that when observing the professional setup and the quality of every single piece in the collection. He has stayed true to his love for detail, and although the style of the cut resembles that of past decades, the collection appears modern and new. It is hard for the observer to define the collection´s look. And it is exactly that feeling Marcel Ostertag wants to play with. He does not want to constrain anyone or anything and is still trying to make a statement. It´s like having a love affair: In some way you´re free, but you still know your limits.

Natural-coloured silk dresses are worn under uniform-style coats; dark, oversize silk blouses are ornamented with juicy red ribbon elements. Like men´s tailoring, thick wool in shades of grey, pervaded by graphic patterns, is cut tightly to the figure. Cashmere is processed into jackets, dresses and coats. Furthermore, we find extra-large crystals sparkling on shoulder parts. Delicate black feathers combined with black transparency become a fatal liaison outfit. When taking a closer look you can vaguely guess what is worn underneath. Infamous lace and suspenders are worn under trench coats and thereby ensure playful elements of surprise. Thanks to see-through elements, flowing evening dresses attract attention to what is worn underneath. Short fur jackets are worn over cocktail dresses and miniskirts are combined with short coats. That is what lends the autumn/winter 2010/2011 collection international glamour.

The lady wearing it should at first seem graceful, elegant and strict, wearing a classic trenchcoat. What is going on underneath is what defines the collection´s style. Playfulness meets cool understatement, romance meets futuristic love, and love melts into jealousy. A fantastic game of contrasts, perfectly designed and carried out in great perfection – that is what characterizes Marcel Ostertag´s new collection `Love Affairs´. We are looking forward to the coming sinful winter.
