Tadashi Shoji is in expansion mode. He opened several new stores in the past two years, launched a kids’ collection (this includes flower girls and special occasion), and a fragrance and is looking into accessories.

This season, he has officially introduced bridal which seems like a natural step as he had partnered with retailers BHLDN and nordstrom.com to offer some of his evening styles in white and other bridal friendly colors in the past. Spring 2018 marks his first stand-alone lineup.

The collection draws from three iconic Hollywood figures: Grace Kelly for the classic, elegant bride with dresses that are focused on sleek shapes and clean lines. Marilyn Monroe was drawn upon for brides who want to accentuate their figures with cutouts, sheer panels and plunging neck lines. And finally, Mia Farrow-inspired looks that will resonate more with unconventional, less traditional brides who would rather go short, wear a jumpsuit, or play with separates.
