In 1977 Roy Raymond and his wife introduced to the world the largest and now most renowned lingerie brand: Victoria’s Secret. With only 40,000$ in their bank account they opened their very first store in California. In just the first year the shop was already on the road to success. And by 1980 Raymond and his wife had two more stores lined up, now in San Francisco. By 82 they had six stores and an annual income of a good six million dollars. By 2012 the brand sales were up to a rough six billion dollars. It is safe to say that over the years not only did it become a trademark but people could know a Victoria’s Secret product from afar. It is now an international franchise with stores all over the world not ready to stop any time soon.
Now in December 2014, 37 years after it first came out the brand is showcasing a new collection on the 9th of the month on the air. It will be demonstrating its new and improved themes:
- Gilded angels: showcasing lingerie drenched in gold accompanied with color coordinated embroidery and beadings.
- Exotic Traveler: this particular theme will explore and showcase a wilder and exotic side of the brand with jewels and vibrancy of colors.
- Dream girl: these are absolutely gorgeous and state of the art silhouettes with palates and laces giving a more funky and fun look to the concept of lingerie.
- Fairy tale: these are princess like frocks with transcendental use of jewels and beads.
- Angel ball: this is a more sultry and seductive side of the brand with darker colors and glamorous use of cloth.
