Whether you're off for spring break or planning a sunny summer Here are Essential and Stylish Travel Clothes for Summer

Summer is upon us and in most circumstances, you might want to take the time of summer break to relax and travel somewhere. Maybe in a tropical country, or touring the rustic streets of an old town, or even just spending some time in a beach house for the weekend. We all need a breather once in a while and summer opens up dozens of opportunities for some refresher.

But as much as we love dressing up for every occasion, nothing is fun and cool with carrying an overpacked bag. Even if you have a car, you might need to lug it to the doorstep and until your room. Seriously, other than the off-chance that a hot beau or a hot guy present is gentleman enough to carry it for you (lucky you!), nothing is cool with that.

You want to pack light and practical for the travel but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your style and fashion sense. With the right clothes to pack, you’ll still look stylish and downright fashionable. In fact, won’t it be nice to think that fashion flexibility and resourcefulness are part of your sartorial feat?

Buttoned-down Shirt – This is, by far, the most versatile top of all tops. You might be thinking about tee shirts but no. At most, tee shirts may be paired to any bottom and layered outerwear but the standard ones usually just gives a hint of casualness to the outfit. Buttoned-down shirts, though, can be used as a formal wear, casual wear, and even a cover up for your swimwear! And it does while looking stylish.

Jeans – You’d want at least a pair of jeans for a weekend getaway and at least two for an entire summer. Skinny jeans should be used for travelling (like in airport, trains, etc.) so that you can tuck it in your boots. You don’t want it to touch the terminal floor. Find one that’s fitting yet comfortable for the entire travel. For the other pair of jeans, you’d want something looser like boyfriend jeans or a straight-cut jeans.

Blazer or Lightweight Jacket – This one is another travelling must-have, especially if the AC in the transit of your choice is blasting and you’d want a light cover. Also, if you have somewhere or an event to attend where you need to wear a formal/casual attire, slipping on a blazer over your shirt-and-jeans outfit will give the outfit a more formal and tailored look. In another instance, you can up a shirt-and-short attire with a bright printed blazer that’s great for street jaunts.

Maxi Skirt – Preferably, choose one in a dark solid color like black for a slimming and taller look. One slit on the side will give it a more alluring feel and it’s totally wearable for night out, casual stroll or a formal party. And you can also use it as a glamorous cover up at night after night-swimming.

Dresses – It’s nice to have at least one evening dress and one day dress to pack. Find one with a flattering and versatile silhouette and in a neutral color. If you’re going to have a summer vacation in the tropics or go somewhere exotic, a shirt dress will be refreshing with a pair of strappy flat sandals.

Shorts – You’d definitely need one pair or two of shorts, especially if you’re going somewhere hot. You can use it as cover up for your swimwear, the bottom for your street-strolling outfit and anywhere else really where you can go casual and loose.

Plain or striped tees – These will be good under pieces for layering. And, really, for when you want to look and feel like slacking off.
