Junk Food Digital Museum Shop Debuts at Comic Con DC Art ShowLOS ANGELES – July 6, 2012 – Just in time for Comic Con, Junk Food is launching a unique digital museum shop during the DC art show in San Diego. Combining old school comic book art with high technology, patrons of DC Entertainment‘s Darkness & Light: Art Inspired by Heroes & Villains, Hope & Heroism , will be able to scan the gallery curatorial cards with their smartphone to buy a t-shirt with that art on it. Using the Red Laser app, customers will scan a QR Code on the curatorial cards which will take them to a streamlined mobile landing page, where they can order these shirts that will be shipped within 48 hours. Darkness & Light will be in San Diego from July 9-15 (Michael J. Wolf Fine Arts). Followed by Atlanta, August 4-13 (Phipps Plaza Atlanta) and concluding in Chicago from September 20-26 (TBD). With the purchase of each shirt, a donation in the amount of $15 will go to saving lives; $15 provides a severely malnourished child in Ethiopia 10 servings of fortified food.

DC Entertainment’s Darkness & Light: Art Inspired by Heroes & Villains, Hope & Heroism exhibition, a one-of-a-kind art and education tour to raise awareness and funds for the hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa, will be shown at Michael J. Wolf Fine Arts in San Diego.  This unique pairing of comic-inspired art with photography from the Horn of Africa is a signature initiative of We Can Be Heroes, a giving campaign designed to raise awareness and funds for the worst hunger crisis in 60 years that is taking place in the Horn of Africa, where more than 8 million people are in need of immediate assistance.
