Britney Spears is not going to give concerts shortly because of her father’s control

The court in Los Angeles on the eve allowed Britney Spears to hire a lawyer herself as part of the proceedings regarding custody of her.

Britney Spears has announced that she does not intend to go on stage as long as her father Jamie Spears controls her creative activities. She announced this on her Instagram page.

“I’m not going to perform on any stages any time soon, as long as my father will control what I wear, say, do or think. I’ve been doing this for the last 13 years,” the singer wrote.

Spears at the end of June spoke at a court hearing in Los Angeles, where she asked to cancel the guardianship over her that has been going on for about 13 years. In addition, the performer noted that she wants to choose her own lawyers. On July 14, The New York Times reported that a court in Los Angeles allowed Spears to hire a lawyer herself as part of the custody proceedings against her.

In 2008, Spears was declared partially incapacitated due to drug problems and concerns about mental health. For more than 10 years, the singer’s finances, including a multimillion-dollar trust fund, were controlled by her father James Spears, and a court-appointed lawyer. The singer’s father also made many decisions regarding her career, treatment, and personal life. Some fans of the singer claimed that she did not want this, but was forced to agree.

The singer’s fortune is estimated at $60 million.
