THE Met’s popular Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition is still not coming to the UK, despite ongoing rumours suggesting that the showcase is bound for a Victoria and Albert-hosted display opening as early as next year.

Although the V&A has spoken to the British label, the museum confirmed today that there are still no plans for the exhibition to come to London. A spokesperson for McQueen also dismissed the rumours, stating that they aren’t to be taken seriously.

The Savage Beauty exhibition, which opened in May last year, has been named the eighth most popular exhibition in the Met’s 141-year history, behind Treasures of Tutankhamun (1978),  Mona Lisa (1963), and  Picasso in The Metropolitan Museum of Art  (2010). In total, 661,509 visitors viewed the display during its run from May 4 to August 7.
