Royal Commentator Angela Levin said Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are “obsessed” with global coverage and the Firm would be wary of speaking to them at the moment

The royals would be “crazy” to talk to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as anything said in private would be leaked “in no time”, an expert has said.

Commentator Angela Levin believes “privacy is the last thing” that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want and claims they are both “obsessed” with global coverage.

Having previously said they stepped down as working royals and left the UK to get out of the spotlight, Ms Levin added they should now “just continue their lives” quietly.

Heavily pregnant Meghan didn’t attend Prince Philip’s funeral on Saturday but released a statement through the couple’s ‘Global Press Secretary’ to inform the world she would be watching the service on TV.

While it was later further revealed she had handwritten a note to the Duke of Edinburgh following his death on April 9.

In the wake of the Sussexes’ tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired last month, and saw them make several damaging allegations, their relationship with the Firm has been further strained.

The day after the bombshell broadcast – at the same time Philip was in hospital – Meghan’s friend Gayle King told US TV the couple had told her subsequent talks with William and Charles had been difficult.

Such leaking of private information was reportedly considered a breach of trust by the royals.

Ms Levin told The Sun : “I think the Royal Family would be crazy to talk to Meghan and Harry.

“Whenever anything happens to them, big or small, they have to tell the world.”

She added: “They are desperate that everybody knows what they are doing every minute of the day.”

Following their grandfather’s funeral, Harry and William were seen chatting together as they walked up to Windsor Castle from St George’s Chapel.

It was the first time Harry had been reunited with his family since moving to America a year ago.

However, he returned home to California on Monday, two days before the Queen’s 95th birthday.

Mirror royal editor Russell Myers told ITV’s Lorraine this morning: “The saga continues. It’ll be interesting to see how the rifts on each side will be repaired.”
