Kate Spade Saturday Fetes Summer in L.A.

What better way to mark the summer solstice than with a poolside party with Emmy Rossum, Freida Pinto, Keirnan Shipka and Camilla Belle?

On Friday, Kate Spade Saturday gathered a bevy of young Hollywood actresses atop Los Angeles’ Roof on Wilshire, which was playfully decked out with beach balls and banners painted in the brand’s signature color of bright yellow. A gaggle of young models adorned in the label’s summer collection provided a splash of style, not to mention a pet cause for Rossum.

“These girls who are standing here in the sun… they’re killing me,” Rossum joked. “They’re so pretty but they’re like, sunburning over there.”

Rossum, dressed head to toe in Kate Spade Saturday except for a pair of Jimmy Choos, tucked into a corner table to take selfies and nibble on gluten-free appetizers. Enjoying some time off before filming the fifth season of “Shameless,” she treated the summer solstice soiree as a prelude to an important dinner date with her mom. “She’s like, ‘I’m making cod and grilled vegetables. Be home by 7:30,’” Rossum said.
