Spring Bridal 2016 Collection by Fashion Designer Carolina Herrera

These brides are romantic…but I want them to be seductive,” said Carolina Herrera in her atelier as models milled about backstage wearing gowns from her spring bridal collection. “That’s what they want to be, and that’s what they are, with their beautiful figures.” Sheer illusion detailing and fitted bustiers conveyed a dose of sensuality, as did Herrera’s slender mermaid silhouettes in silk mikado, Chantilly lace and organza.

The designer also chose to highlight the white jasmine flower this season, which could be spotted throughout the models’ hair and jewelry. “When I was growing up, my bedroom was near the garden next to a jasmine plant,” Herrera explained. “It used to open in the evening, and the smell, I loved it.” Flower appliqués and motifs were hand embroidered in cascading patterns onto her silk faille gowns, setting the tone for romance.
