Spring Bridal 2016 Collection by Fashion Designer J.Mendel

Gilles Mendel introduced a few ballgowns formerly reserved solely for couture clients into his spring bridal lineup, which, despite its frothiness, still exuded a sleek and restrained elegance. He also updated his signature hand-pleats with an iridescent lurex silk chiffon, offered either as a full skirt or as a subtle underlay.

It wouldn’t be J.Mendel without a little fur, and the designer revived an heirloom broadtail fur for spring, which he mounted on silk organza with light-pink seams. A few looks referenced the Seventies disco era with halter silhouettes, chain embroidery and beading, while a hammered-silk gown with a gathered waist recalled the glamour of Jean Harlow.
